Desired Crowns is the kinda collaboration and unity you love to see. 2 high caliber MCs coming together that both push a wave of some of the best bars Hip-Hop has to offer. Che Noir & 7xvethegenius both teamed up with some great producers in this project to create Desired Crowns. Crowns they’ve both rightfully earned.
.
The production these two picked is all incredible. Topanga starts things with a faster upbeat beat, one of my favorites as I love these two MCs when they get to flex and stand tall as bar breakers. Not Me follows and hits so sweet when that vocal starts as Che Noirs verse begins the back and forth between herself and 7xvethegenius. Sum Of Two Evils is produced by Conductor Williams and has all the quirks and traits that indicate it, not one of my favorite beats here but no doubt 7xve and Che slice through it with pens as sharp as blades.
.
Flight was produced by the great V Don who laced this duo with a uplifting yet melancholic beat. A style 7xve & Che shine one everytime, and where we get the only feature here, from REASON. Conquer is produced by Che Noir herself, the drums lead things like a March but the strings are like a breeze pushing along as well. All brought together by an amazing hook. Just to not get into every track I’ll end with Town Ballroom, produced by the always impressive Khrysis, I love the scratched hook here and the two MCs did what they did this whole project. Kill the song.
.
Like Che Noir said in the first bar of the first song, they became the Queens of underground rap. And Desired Crowns further estables their claim to that right. Also as Che implies there’s more than one crown and one spot to claim. The top can be multiple people, working together or in proximity and holding a bond that keeps Hip-Hop in a good place and in good hands. With these two at the top I know things are headed the right direction.
Standout Tracks: Topanga, Not Me, Flight, Conquer & Town Ballroom
