Album Review: Meek Mill - Indy Pack (Vol. 01)
Published on Nov 17, 2025
I get that people aren’t into Meek Mill and I get why ha. Personally I always liked Meek more or less so it sucks to see where we are in 2025. So when I saw this Indie Pack (Vol. 01) was dropping I wanted to like it. At his best I really like Meek. I like the high energy and street content. Unfortunately that’s not what was delivered with Indie Pack (Vol. 01).
.
At only 4 songs and 11 minutes, there’s very little room here to miss if you want it to be meaningful in a discography. SAVE YOURSELF starts things and is in the lane for Meek Mill I never liked. Beats that try to mix uplifting background vocals with thumping trap adjacent cores. And with Meeks style I just rarely like these tracks. HOW FAR WE’VE COME does the exact same formula basically and gets the same results with me. Neither song is terrible but I wouldn’t say either is good simultaneously.
.
FREE SMOKE is the one song in here I feel like stands out to me, even then it feels like too little too late. A solid song but not one that comes anywhere near Meeks peak, like a whisper energy. And 4TH OF JULY which finishes this is exactly like the first 2 tracks on this short project. A little better with Fridayy on the hook but still a track more likely to bore me to sleep than anything. Lyrically there’s some good bars and some very average ones. None of the verses or hooks from Meek were good enough to really reel me in.
.
Unfortunately this isn’t the spark that’s going to revive things for Meek Mill but I’m not the type to say stop trying. I think Meek has it in him to potentially come back musically but it’s going to take some real movement and this Indy Pack isn’t making more than a small splash. He needs to return to the style he blew up with if he wants to do anything in my opinion and this ain’t that.
