Album Review: Saba - C0FFEE!
Published on Dec 01, 2025
I won’t pretend like I’m the biggest Saba fan or kept up with everything he’s ever done. I did really love From The Private Collection Of Saba & No ID from this year and when I saw C0FFEE! was coming I definitely got a bit excited. The day it dropped I put it on and even though it wasn’t bad, I did feel slightly underwhelmed. And even though parts grew on me more, even with more time, being slightly underwhelmed persisted.
How Many X? starts the album and isn’t a beat I love and the song feels all over the place. Something that continued through the album to a degree. “don’t be long” has a good sound but the song itself isn’t something I find very replay-able and the rhymes just didn’t do it for me. my bro is the first song here I fully liked and felt like I could sink into, not amazing or on the level of Sabas best this year but a good song.
LOOKING FOR PARKING is easily my least favorite track on C0FFEE!, the vibe, the vocals, nothing really worked for me. Today Years Old is much better but a song I don’t love, more from Saba’s flow/cadence on this particular track. high tides is a highlight on this project for sure, both Saba & Maxx Moor executed well and together sounded good. itachi is another good song, very short but the whole project is short so these tracks happen. Just a shame when the best tracks don’t get as much time. TICTACTOE is cool but not something I’d probably add to a playlist and overall not enough to a save this project to me.
Like I said I felt kinda disappointed with this, I’d listen through, set it down, and come back hours later or the next day but it continued to not move me like I’d hoped. I still think Saba is amazing of course but this project just missed the mark for me. Some good moments but nothing enough to really make a real impression or mark.
Standout Tracks: my bro, high tides, itachi
6/10
