This Saturday, October 18, the city’s women’s tackle football team is holding open tryouts and they’re inviting YOU to step on the field and show what you’ve got.

A New Era of Women’s Football in Chicago
The Chicago Winds stormed into the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC) with a mission: to bring elite women’s football back to the city that knows heart, hustle, and hard hits. Led by owner Angelique M. Smith, the Winds are building more than a team they’re creating a movement of empowerment, excellence, and sisterhood on and off the field.
From the first whistle to the final play, this squad represents Chicago’s grit every tackle, every drive, every touchdown fueled by passion and purpose.
Who Should Try Out
Whether you’ve played college or high school ball, dominated on the flag football field, or simply have the drive and discipline to compete, this tryout is your chance to earn your spot.
Coaches are evaluating:
Speed, agility, and football IQ
Strength and hustle
Coachability and team attitude
No experience? No problem bring effort, focus, and heart. The Winds will teach the rest.
What to Bring
Cleats or turf shoes
Workout gear (no pads required)
Water and hydration
A competitive mindset
