Jacob Fatu Explains Why He Didn’t Lean on The Bloodline for a WWE Spot
Published on Aug 03, 2025

Jacob Fatu is making it clear — his path to WWE wasn’t built on family favors, even though his cousins are part of one of the most dominant storylines in wrestling history.
Speaking to Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat, Fatu explained that he deliberately avoided asking his famous relatives in The Bloodline for help, choosing instead to earn his spot on his own.
“I never asked my cousins for a handout because they were doing Bloodline, the hottest thing. How could I ask them for something when they’re so busy? It was more motivating for me, watching them because I’m a fan of my brothers. I love them and am such a fan of their work.”
Fatu revealed that after keeping his free agency under wraps, the official WWE call came from none other than Paul Heyman, a figure with deep ties to his family.
“It was from Paul Heyman. Mr. William Regal text me throughout the years, ‘Let us know what’s going on.’ Mr. Heyman has always been tapped in.”
He also expressed his gratitude to WWE leadership for giving him the opportunity to prove himself.
“Shoutout to Triple H for giving me a chance… WWE blessed me. Took care of everything. They took a chance on me.”
Fatu’s self-made journey now leads to one of the biggest nights of his career — a United States Championship steel cage match against his cousin Solo Sikoa on Night Two of SummerSlam.
