ZESTY WARS: GERRYPTHADJ CALLS OUT THE PETTIEST MOVE OF THE SUMMER By: FAB 94.5 The Hitz | Written by GerryPThaDJ

Let’s get straight to it—
There’s always one. One dude in the room who swears he slick, swears he different, but moves like a whole toddler with a microphone. And this weekend? That title belongs to Money Mike.
While I’m over at Lynwood Skate, hosting my INDEPENDENCE ROLL XIV—a real-deal legacy event for the community—Money Mike thought it was a power move to throw a party at The Rink on 87th. Same weekend. Same skate culture. Same crowd. Just a whole lot of the same tired behavior.
It’s giving desperation. It’s giving ego.
Hell—it’s giving zesty.
You work for WGCI, a station with resources, reach, and events happening all across the city this weekend. And you picked the exact same time slot to come step on an event that was already in motion? One that ain’t just about spinning records—it’s about honoring a man, a legacy, and a community that supported me when I could barely walk?
Nah. This wasn’t coincidence.
This was clown SHIT wrapped in a flyer with glitter on it.
And you knew what you were doing. Let’s not sit here and play dumb. Let’s not act like you accidentally picked the same audience, same theme, same style. You didn’t just “book a party.” You threw a shot and tried to duck when it came time to answer for it.
But here’s what separates the culture from the copycats:
We don’t compete—we create.
We don’t gossip—we build.
We don’t sneak around—we stand ten toes on it.
And right now? You looking real soft behind that mic.
This ain’t even about me feeling threatened. You not that important.
It’s about principle. It’s about respect. And you clearly don’t know what that looks like because this move was as unoriginal as your flyer.
Let’s not pretend this was about “having your own lane.” If you wanted your own lane, you would’ve picked a different track. This was about stepping on something that wasn’t yours, hoping to fracture the crowd and maybe make yourself look like the guy.
Spoiler alert: you’re not.
So while you’re over there scrambling to fill a rink with confused skaters and lukewarm energy, Lynwood is gonna be exactly what it always is when I’m involved: Packed. Unified. Electric.
No gimmicks. No glitter. Just real ones celebrating something you clearly don’t understand—legacy.
So enjoy your little party, Mike.
Just know this: the city sees everything.
And they know the difference between a moment and a movement.
Between somebody who cares about the culture and somebody just trying to compete with it.
You can’t finesse integrity.
Not here. Not in Chicago.
